The Story

The intricacies of our individual identities, aspirations, and convictions, compounded by ingrained societal and cultural expectations, often suspends us in a state of contradiction and internal polarization. It is this conflict, and the search to find harmony between all facets of ourselves that can often have us feeling unsettled and pulled in opposing directions.

These distinctive earrings are about this balance and tension. They stitch together two arching, bending and disparate desires, existing in contrast to each other. Yet, they are held together, to achieve a greater whole. The helix shape is reminiscent of a single DNA strand, suggesting the significance of the discord and the harmony.

At the base of each earring hangs a circular ring, balancing a gold cup, that represents the completeness and bounty we can achieve if we cease to resist the dissonance. Instead, we can embrace our own complexity, find peace in our oscillating contradictions, and the kindness to appreciate our own humanity.

These contemporary, one-of-a-kind earrings, are handmade in fine silver, sterling silver and 18K gold bimetal. Each arching bar is uniquely textured and finished to emphasize the contrast - one featuring fused silver with a deep patina, and the other with a chisel texture and a brighter polish.
